Week 23

Another week down... still a Papaya!

I was wondering why TheBump said the average weight of the baby was 12-20oz, I thought that was a little bit of a large span there; but I see that I will remain a Papaya this whole month, which makes a little more sense.

TheBump says that Baby Girl's face is fully formed and now she's working on sprouting little nipples!

Some Things I've Noticed This Week:
Baby Girl has been super active this week! I can't wait until The Husband is able to feel her moving around! Although, from what some people say, maybe I can wait! I hear that baby begins moving so much and it can become difficult to sleep at night. I've been sleeping so lovely this past week since I've had my Boppy, it's unreal!
Speaking of sleeping, my wonderfully generous friend, H, has so kindly given us her KING size bed... I'm in heaven right now! I could hardly contain my excitement today as my other great friends brought it and set it up for us this afternoon. I can't wait to sleep tonight! We don't even have sheets yet (I purchased some last night in anticipation), but with a King size bed, I could go without sheets forever, I don't care! It's a king size bed folks! The Husband and I won't even know the other exists while we're snoozin' away! No more bumping into each other and trying to skooch over throughout the night; no more breathing on each other when we face the same way; no more sleeping like as if strapped into a straight jacket, I can sprawl out all I want! Can you tell I'm excited!?

Baby Bennett's Current Living Quarters:
Gah, my nails have been going on strike against me, and I've about had it! All my nails have broken off now, and they were doing so good a few months ago! They are so thin and weak, I'm sick of it! I don't know if it's from the pregnancy, or b/c I painted my nails last month, and took the polish off with straight acetone. I have a feeling that might have something to do with it simply b/c before that my nails were doing so good. But I just can't stand the other nail polish remover, it takes way too long to remove the polish! So, I guess it's my fault, but I'd rather blame it on pregnancy, it makes me feel a little better!
My belly has definitely gotten a little rounder! More people are commenting that I'm really starting to look pregnant now. My friend S just loves to stare at my belly, little baby girl feels so loved by her Aunty!
This week I also broke all rules and has sushi... again! I know! However, this time, without even thinking of it, I went totally legal! Both roles I ordered were fully cooked, baked scallop roll and a baked salmon roll. It was so divine, and what more, it was totally not breaking any rules! I felt so good! Starting baby girl off right, and broadening her horizons before she can even consume it herself!

Nursery:
I purchased my first few prints for the nursery this evening! I'm really excited. The Husband didn't like any of the prints I picked out, and when I asked him to come approve them, he said "You don't want me to do that, I probably won't like them." Pshhhh, I thought, of course he'll like at least one.... nope, he didn't, he was right, he didn't like any of them. boo. O well. So we ordered a few of the prints he really liked, which I liked as well, and I'll just use the other prints I liked elsewhere in the nursery. The ones we purchased tonight will be a part of the collage I'm creating. I'm really excited to start putting it together. Without further ado,

Progress:
I'm so sorry I don't have a picture this week. Saturday was uber busy, and I completely forgot to take one Sunday morning when I got all done up for church. Today was just never gunna happen. I'll take one this week and post it with my weekly post, in which I will also post the highly anticipated ultrasound pictures of baby girl!

Nursery Finds

I've been spending a lot of time on different websites this week, and the past few months really, trying to find nursery ideas. I pretty much have set exactly what I want to do, but since I haven't purchased anything yet, I'm still enjoying looking around for any new ideas that I just HAVE to incorporate into Baby Girl's room. Plus, if anything, it's helping me to really narrow down exactly what I want to do with her room. I'm getting really excited, b/c after a full month of long-term subbing, my paycheck will be here this week and I can start purchasing items for Baby Girl's room!

I thought I'd post some pictures and links to some really cute nurseries and fun craft ideas that I've come across this week that I want to try adding to the nursery.

Blue Nurseries for Girls:

Lay Baby Lay

This is one of the most adorable little girl nurseries I have seen! I LOVE the light blue. And of course, I'm in love with the gray accents she added. I love the antique touches. I love the collage of pictures. I am also in love with the really bold rug! I wish I had hard floors so that I could do a really bold rug like that.

ArtsyFarstyShopaholic
I really like the light blue in this little girl's room as well. I find the bird mobile too adorable! And I've seen that Ikea light fixture in many a nursery lately, I'm thinking it would look really cute, but then we'd have no fan, and it can get pretty hot up here in the summer! You'd think living in the mountains would keep things pretty cool, but it's mountains smack dab in the middle of the desert, and it gets just as awful as Bakersfield!

Mobile Ideas:
I really like this bird mobile, and I think it would look really cute with some of the extra scrapbooking paper I got for Baby Girl's shower invitations, however, I think it is a bit more intensive that what I have time or am capable of. I don't think I even have all the items necessary.
I think what I'll do instead, b/c I think it would be fun to make something (I really am interested in making her nursery as personal as possible with hand made things from friends and family members), is to make this mobile. If you zoom in, you can see that all the pieces are actually different shapes, which is even cuter. Here is a picture of one very similar that my friend H made for her son. It's so cute, and she makes it seem so doable!

Misc:

I absolutely LOVE these DIY Pom Poms. The top one is made out of T-Shirts, and the bottom of Fabric. Many nursery pics I've looked at have had similar pom poms hung above the crib as a mobile, or above the changing table, in a corner of the room above the rocking chair, etc. I think I might attempt the bottom one b/c I really like the fabric I'm getting for Baby Girl's room, and I have been trying to figure out a unique way to incorporate it. I was going to frame the fabric, but I have found some cute paper and way too many prints that I want. I need to make sure the room doesn't look like a collage barfed all over it.

What do you think? Anything catch your eye?

Week 22

Today is 22 weeks people!
Holy cow, it's really starting to pick up and feel like I'm pregnant!
I was wondering when that would kick in; it seemed so far away when we first found out.

This week: TheBump says that Baby Girl Bennett is the size of a Papaya!

Week 22
This is an avg. size of 10.5 to 11.8 inches and 12.5 to 20.8 oz.
TheBump also says that baby can now hear outside noise from inside the womb, and that gentle music and my voice is most soothing.
Baby Girl has been super active this week! She seems to be moving around mostly after I eat in the morning, or at night when I get into bed. My students are all sad that they can't feel her yet, but I tell them "in time, in time."

Some Things I've Noticed This Week:
So, after last week's melt down, The Husband so graciously ordered me a Boppy Body Pillow! I about cried when he pulled it out of the box for me; And, it's so cute, and totally works with my colors, which isn't necessarily that important, but hello, I'd like to hug something cute close to me throughout the night, rather than ugly! My growing belly is very appreciative of this new pillow, and I'm sure it will only get more appreciative as the weeks go by.

Also this week, I did a little Baby Morphing via TheBump. I added a picture of me, and The Husband, from the same picture, and I was right, we DEFINITELY have reason to worry about our child's cuteness factor.... Enjoy this little gem! These two pictures bore us....

Kids These Days!

Today was utterly exhausting.
Yesterday, I took a much needed trip to Bako to visit friends and go baby shower invitation shopping, thank you H for helping me pick out the paper for the invitations! Now, I just need to get to work and make them all!

Then, I got to have dinner with my gal, S, and ended up staying out until 10:30, so therefore I didn't get home until quite late. It was so worth it to have great talk with the besty though!

This morning came WAY too early! And I subbed for a set of classes that makes me want to rip my hair out and shove it in the kids mouths! The freshman classes are SO LOUD! It's crazy! I was called names this morning, specifically "Fat" being one of them... I was not having any of that... I made sure to let the kid know that this belly was all pregnancy, not fat... which is not entirely true, but he doesn't need to know that. Because I didn't actually hear the kid say this (another student told me, but I totally believe her, I've heard this other kid talking crap before), I didn't send him to the dean, but I sure gave him a stern talking to, which felt great. It's amazing how pissed off students get these days when you ask them to get the assignment their teacher left done. They feel so entitled that they should be able to to whatever they want, and I should just sit by and let them. gah!

I really hope that The Husband and I are able to raise our children in such a way that they have respect for adults and for others. That even when they really don't want to do whatever the assignment is, or chore, etc, instead of complaining, they'll just do it without arguing (believe it or not, there are some students that don't complain and just get the work done, it's so lovely). Many students today seem to think that by telling me that they don't want to do the assignment, that I'll magically tell them they don't have to do it. As if they're the ONLY ONE that doesn't want to complete the work. No, no one wants to do it turd, you're just the one complaining about it, thinking it will change things. Gah, again!

On a lighter note:

I was reading Spearmint Baby today and she featured these oh so adorable baby hats! I can't handle how much I love the little owl hats, and the sock monkey set, that little tail is too cute! Check them out Sweet Love Creates.

And lastly, yesterday I also got to visit my friend L, and her sweet mother couldn't help but take a few pics of my pregnant belly. Thank you so much J, b/c I can't get The Husband to take a good one. It seems impossible!

Week 21

Week 20

Week 21

Today I am 21 Weeks along!
My belly is actually starting to look really pregnant!
It's getting there slowly, but I can definitely tell a difference from even last week!
I'm still at that stage where I randomly rub my belly in public, just to confirm I'm pregnant to those who might be confused. However, I might just look like a really weird sorta chubby girl that rubs her belly in public.
Baby is 10.5 inches and 12.7 ounces!
Amazing how quickly this baby is growing now!
Crazy to think how much farther I still have to go... gotta make it to a Watermelon!

I found my cantaloupe picture from this other blog, about this dad that posts about his wife's pregnancy. He took the most aDORable picture of her at week 20, enjoy!
